Commissioning

No special steps are required for commissioning the KraftwerK EasyBus systems. However, we recommend observing the following checklist.

Connection to the Receiver

Before connecting the KLM 4/16 to the receiver, please check the assignment of the receiver outputs. Use a servo and test each output for correct function. Note the assignment.

Note: To prevent unintended movement, it is advisable to prop up the model.

Connect the servo cables for steering and throttle to the corresponding receiver outputs. The speed controller and steering servo are connected to the servo outputs of the KLM. Channels K1 and K2 can be used optionally.

Tip: The connection of throttle and/or steering channel can be omitted if brake, reverse light, and/or indicators are fed in analog (see chapter 11.5 “Actros 3363 Brake/Reverse Light and Indicators from the Speed Controller”).

Tip: Speed controller and/or steering servo can also be connected directly to the receiver with Y-cables to exclude interference from the KLM.

Connection of the Lighting Boards

All expansion or lighting boards can be connected directly or via distribution boards to the bus outputs of the light assistant.

Learning the Channels

Learning the channels is the most important step for the proper operation of the KraftwerK EasyBus systems!

After every change of the settings of your remote control system (throws, directions of rotation, center positions), the channels must be relearned.

Servos and motors controlled by KraftwerK systems must be adjusted via the ControlPanel – not via the menu of the remote control system!

  1. Switch on the remote control. If the drive motor is connected, prop up the model so that no wheels touch the ground.
  2. Switch on the model. After the green LED flashes twice, move the throttle and steering sticks each to the end position for five seconds until the red LED lights up for about one second.
  3. Return the sticks to the center position.

The LED blinks according to the channels:

  • 1x short: Throttle stick – full throttle, then full brake
  • 2x short: Steering stick – full left, then full right
  • 3x short: Additional channel K1 – full left, then full right
  • 4x short: Additional channel K2 – full up, then full down

When all sticks are in the center position, the red LED lights up steadily and signals the end of the learning process. The system restarts and indicates readiness for operation with a double green flash.
